Find Your Calm

In our fast-paced world, finding moments of true stillness and deep rest can feel like a luxury. Acorn to Oak believes it's a necessity for your well-being. My yoga offerings are designed to provide a nurturing sanctuary where you can truly slow down, release tension, and reconnect with your inner peace. Specializing in gentle, restorative practices, my classes are accessible to all, inviting you to experience profound relaxation and healing.

My Approach to Yoga

Drawing from many years of personal practice and my 200-hour (and soon 300-hour!) yoga teacher training, I guide students with a caring, motherly, and authentic presence. My passion lies in creating a supportive, LGBTQ-friendly environment where every body feels welcome and safe to explore movement and stillness. I believe yoga is not just about physical postures, but about cultivating a deeper connection to yourself, fostering resilience, and finding quiet in the everyday.

Specialized Practices
for Deep Well-being

My focus is on practices that emphasize profound relaxation and gentle release

Restorative Yoga

Imagine being fully supported by props like bolsters, blankets, and blocks, allowing your body to sink into complete comfort. In Restorative Yoga, we hold gentle poses for extended periods, encouraging deep relaxation and activating your parasympathetic nervous system – your body's natural "rest and digest" mode. This practice is a powerful antidote to stress, helping to calm the mind, reduce tension, improve sleep, and aid in recovery. It's truly about "less doing, more being."

Yin Yoga

Dive into the deeper tissues of your body with Yin Yoga. This practice involves holding passive poses for several minutes, targeting the connective tissues like ligaments, joints, and fascia, particularly in the hips, pelvis, and spine. Yin Yoga gently increases flexibility and joint mobility, releases stagnant energy, and offers a unique opportunity for introspection and mindfulness as you sit with sensation. It's the perfect complement to more active lifestyles, helping to bring balance to your body and mind.

Yoga Nidra (Yogic Sleep)

Experience the ultimate guided relaxation with Yoga Nidra. Often called "yogic sleep," this powerful practice guides you into a state of deep conscious relaxation between wakefulness and sleep. Lying comfortably, you'll be led through a systematic journey of body and breath awareness, promoting profound rest, reducing anxiety, improving sleep quality, and fostering mental clarity. It's a journey into your inner landscape, accessible to everyone regardless of physical ability.

Through these gentle yet profound practices, my aim is to help you release physical and mental tension, cultivate inner peace, and leave feeling deeply renewed and revitalized. Join me to discover the powerful benefits of slowing down and truly nurturing yourself.
